Swedish post-punk trio Then Comes Silence have returned with a brand-new single, "Judgement Day," offering the first taste of their upcoming eighth studio album, Requiem Ballroom.
Accompanied by an official music video, the new track blends the band's signature dark post-punk atmosphere with unexpected Euro-techno influences, creating one of their most dynamic releases to date.
Lyrically, the song embraces themes of failure, reckless choices and living life without regrets. Rather than fearing the inevitable, it celebrates those who continue enjoying every moment until the very end.
The accompanying music video was directed by Damon Zurawski and captures the band's energetic live spirit, featuring friends and fans dancing alongside the trio throughout the performance.
A New Chapter For Then Comes Silence
Founded in Stockholm in 2012, Then Comes Silence has become one of today's leading names in the modern gothic rock, darkwave and post-punk scene. Since becoming a trio in 2022, the band has sharpened its sound into a more direct and powerful musical identity.
The upcoming album Requiem Ballroom follows 2024's Trickery and promises another collection of dark atmospheres, driving rhythms and infectious hooks. The record was mixed by Jon Bordon and Tom van Heesch, while mastering was handled by Svante Forsbäck, known for his work with Rammstein, Ville Valo and Apocalyptica.
Over the years, Then Comes Silence have shared stages with artists including Fields of the Nephilim, Clan of Xymox, The Chameleons and A Place To Bury Strangers, while performing at some of Europe's biggest alternative festivals.
"Judgement Day" is available now on major streaming platforms, while the new album Requiem Ballroom will be released via Metropolis Records.
Upcoming Live Dates
Following the release of Judgement Day, Then Comes Silence will take the new material on the road with performances across Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Italy, the Czech Republic and Sweden. The tour includes appearances at M'era Luna Festival, Stella Nomine Festival and Baroeg Open Air, before concluding in Stockholm on October 24.
