Canadian modern metal band SICKSENSE have released “A Moment Of Violence”, the final track from their upcoming EP Funerals, due September 25.
The song takes a darker and more reflective approach, dealing with death, grief and the difficult questions surrounding faith and loss. The band describes it as a personal struggle with the idea of a higher power and the pain of losing people close to us.
Musically, “A Moment Of Violence” begins as a moody, atmospheric piece featuring piano and thunderstorm sounds before gradually building toward a full-band breakdown. Orchestral elements also feature prominently, including violin performed by bassist Rich Regier.
Funerals follows SICKSENSE's 2025 debut album Cross Me Twice and marks another step into a darker and more experimental direction for the Montreal-founded band.
Fronted by Vicky Psarakis and Robby J. Fonts, SICKSENSE combine metalcore, nu metal and djent influences with contrasting clean and harsh vocals.
The new EP is scheduled for release on September 25, 2026.
