Electronic-rock artist Celldweller has released “Never A Thief”, the first single from the upcoming official soundtrack to Thief: Pulse of Promise, a new graphic novel set in the world of the classic stealth game series.
The soundtrack will feature more than a dozen original songs inspired by the music of the original Thief games, with legendary Garrett voice actor Stephen Russell also contributing new performances.
For “Never A Thief”, Celldweller drew inspiration from the atmosphere and sound design of the original games while giving the material his own modern electronic-rock treatment.
The upcoming Thief: Pulse of Promise graphic novel is set between Thief: The Dark Project and Thief II: The Metal Age. The story follows master thief Garrett as a seemingly routine job leads him toward forgotten Keeper secrets, mysterious powers beneath the City and a young boy whose fate could change everything.
Originally released in 1998, Thief: The Dark Project became one of the defining titles of the stealth genre, particularly for its emphasis on sound, darkness and careful infiltration.
The new project arrives alongside a separate revival of the classic game: Thief: The Dark Project Remastered is currently scheduled for release this winter on PC and consoles.
“Never A Thief” is available now through FiXT, while the full soundtrack will arrive later.
