Pennsylvania-based musician and producer Robin Ross has released "Blood Lines", a new rock single featuring vocalist Carmine Gontz. The atmospheric track combines melodic guitar work, layered harmonies and a reflective approach to the themes of family, connection and the ties that continue through generations.
Written and performed by Robin Ross with Jack's Maze, the song features Bill Snyder and Scott Cowan on guitars, Frank Cinquegrana on drums and Joe Torres on bass. Ross produced and mixed the recording at Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio in Milford, Pennsylvania, working with mastering engineer Jonathan Duckett.
"Blood Lines" takes a thoughtful look at the passage of time and the way family connections survive from one generation to the next. Its melodic, expansive sound gives the song a distinctly gothic and progressive-rock atmosphere.
Carmine Gontz brings his own theatrical hard-rock character to the track. The young Pennsylvania artist has previously worked with producers including Dan Malsch and Matt Starr, and his credits include collaborations with musicians such as Rudy Sarzo and Mike Dupke. Gontz is currently preparing his debut album.
For Robin Ross, "Blood Lines" is part of a long musical journey that began in the New York and New Jersey scene in the late 1980s. Ross later co-founded the progressive rock project Jack's Maze and has continued to write, record and produce music through his Baa Baa Leaf Music studio.
The new single also arrives during a productive period for Ross. His album project "Once in a Blue Moon" is expected in the autumn, while earlier releases include the album "Mind Space" and material from Robin Ross & The TW Howlers.
