GÅTE Release New Single "Strandvaskar" Ahead Of Upcoming Album Sigil

Norwegian folk-rock band GÅTE have unveiled their haunting new single "Strandvaskar", offering another glimpse into their upcoming album Sigil, scheduled for release on September 25, 2026 via Season of Mist.

Inspired by an old Norwegian coastal superstition, Strandvaskar tells the story of a drowned soul washed ashore. According to the legend, the body must receive a proper burial, or the sea will return to reclaim it. The song transforms this eerie folklore into an emotional and atmospheric musical journey.

Musically, the track combines GÅTE's signature blend of Nordic folk traditions and modern rock. The haunting sound of the Hardanger fiddle intertwines with powerful guitars and atmospheric arrangements, creating a cinematic listening experience.

The new single continues to build anticipation for Sigil, the band's first album released through Season of Mist. The record explores ancient legends, Nordic mythology, and the enduring power of traditional storytelling while presenting GÅTE's most internationally focused work to date.

To support the album, GÅTE will embark on a tour across Norway this autumn, with an additional performance scheduled in Istanbul, Turkey.
