BUTCHER BABIES are entering a new chapter with 'Nightbloom', their upcoming studio album due October 2 via Judge & Jury Records. Alongside the announcement, the band has released an official video for the album's latest single, 'Blame It On The Wind'.
Produced by Howard Benson, with additional production from Joe Rickard, Neil Sanderson and Henry Flury, Nightbloom finds BUTCHER BABIES combining their trademark heaviness with stronger melodic elements and a more focused, modern sound.
For vocalist Heidi Shepherd, however, the album represents much more than a new musical direction. The songs grew out of a period of personal struggle and intense self-reflection, with songwriting becoming a way to confront difficult memories and turn them into something positive.
Rather than focusing solely on pain, Shepherd describes Nightbloom as a record about survival, growth and finding something beautiful in the darkest periods of life. That idea also helped shape the album's title: the image of something blooming without needing perfect conditions.
Guitarist Henry Flury says the band approached the record with a strong sense of purpose, with every musical and lyrical detail carefully considered. The result is an album that combines aggression, soaring melodies and a more emotionally direct side of BUTCHER BABIES.
'Blame It On The Wind' serves as the latest preview of the record and follows the band's recent releases as anticipation builds for Nightbloom.

BUTCHER BABIES have spent more than a decade developing a sound that combines heavy metal aggression, groove-driven riffs, melodic hooks and an increasingly personal approach to songwriting. Nightbloom looks set to continue that evolution while taking the band into a more focused and emotionally revealing direction.
The album will be released on October 2, 2026, via Judge & Jury Records.
