Finnish melodic metal band Segmentia have unveiled "Nuclear Sun," the second single from their upcoming debut album, accompanied by a brand-new performance video.
The new track blends melodic power metal influences with the band's trademark melancholic atmosphere, moving between delicate guitar passages, cinematic arrangements and powerful choruses. According to guitarist and songwriter Jere Luokkamäki, "Nuclear Sun" marks the moment he fully embraced his power metal roots after years with Finnish band Celesty.

Lyrically, the song reflects on humanity's relationship with the world around us. Inspired by a winter trip through Kajaani and the unsettling feeling of seeing soldiers on the streets, the track explores fears about the future, environmental destruction and the consequences of human actions. Vocalist Kansana further developed the lyrics, adding an emotional perspective that balances hope with despair.
The accompanying performance video is the second chapter of an audiovisual trilogy. Produced by Tojusa Media Oy, it continues the visual story introduced in the band's previous single, "Before The Dawn," using the landscapes of Southern Ostrobothnia to reinforce the song's powerful atmosphere.
With "Nuclear Sun," Segmentia reveal another side of their musical identity while continuing to build anticipation for their upcoming debut album.
