Five years since their last record – and now the big 10: Deftones return with "private music", their tenth studio album. Starting today, the Grammy-winning band from California release their brand-new LP worldwide via Reprise/Warner Records. Listen HERE. Full tracklisting below.

Earlier this month, the band made waves with the single “milk of the madonna.” Before that, they set the stage for "private music" with the album opener “my mind is a mountain” – sparking both critical acclaim and fan euphoria. That track alone has already surpassed 25 million streams worldwide and debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs chart – one of the strongest song launches in the band’s history.

Across nine studio albums, Deftones have built their own sonic universe. Now they return with one of the most focused statements of their career: "private music". Alongside the core lineup of Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter, Abe Cunningham, and Frank Delgado – joined by new bassist Fred Sablan – the band once again teamed up with producer Nick Raskulinecz, who previously worked with them on Diamond Eyes (2010) and Koi No Yokan (2012).

The result is a tight, masterfully arranged album of eleven tracks that feels like a new benchmark in the band’s history. Thematically, "private music" navigates the beauty and danger of nature, the pursuit of a positive mindset, and visionary journeys beyond the physical world – Deftones at their most refined.

Coinciding with the album release, the band also launches the next leg of their completely sold-out North American headlining tour (produced by Live Nation), kicking off tonight at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia. The run continues through arenas across Canada and the U.S., with Phantogram and IDLES joining on select dates and The Barbarians of California opening all shows.

On November 1, 2025, the sixth annual Dia De Los Deftones festival takes place at Petco Park in San Diego, California. Naturally, Deftones headline the event, but they’ve also personally curated the full lineup: Clipse, 2Hollis, Rico Nasty, Deafheaven, Régulo Caro, Ecca Vandal, Glare, and University are all confirmed. For anyone wanting to escape the German autumn for California – final tickets are available HERE.

ABOUT DEFTONES

Few bands have built such a passionate global fanbase as Deftones – the Grammy-winning, multi-platinum collective from California who have long been synonymous with independence, artistic integrity, and a sound that defies categorization.

Formed in 1988 by childhood friends in Sacramento, the band today looks back on a career spanning over three decades, with more than 10 million albums sold worldwide, over 9.2 billion streams, and a catalog of influential records. These include the double platinum-certified White Pony (2000), platinum Diamond Eyes (2010), Koi No Yokan (2012), and Ohms (2020), which landed them another Top 5 entry on the Billboard 200 and #8 in Germany.

Now with "private music", Deftones release their tenth studio album via Reprise/Warner Records – another milestone in a career that has never lost its relevance.
