CROSSON: ‘Ready, Aim… Rock !!’ (9 September 2022, Galaxy Records)

One thing is certain. Crosson evolve and move forward musically with every album they release. Jason Crosson, the main writer and vocalist for the band, has turned the band into a glam rock force by being both a great and creative musician, as well as a stunning entertainer and showman, in a scene that requires both. The only drawback is that the studio version of the band can only show the musical aspect and having listened to the album quite a few times by now, I am certain that the Crosson would offer an amazing live performance with such a playlist.

The “Ready Aim ... Rock” is definitely the most sophisticated and mature Crosson album so far. The band has carefully planned and wrote this album, trying not to repeat itself. All those defining Crosson traits still remain, but the “Ready Aim…Rock” does not feel either a copy of past works or an uninspired glam rock work. On the contrary, the newest work by Crosson is a clever mix between catchy, stadium rock anthems and powerful rock ‘n’ roll songs.

With their newest work Crosson prove once and for all that they are a force to be reckoned with. The “Ready Aim…Rock” was released earlier in September, with the band reigniting the flame of melodic/glam rock with their uplifting and vibrant style.

By opening with the song “United”, the “Ready Aim…Rock” grabs you by the throat and drags you into a 40 minute musical experience, full of energy and exciting glam/melodic rock songs. The key word is “catchy” and the Crosson establish that with their opening track, which does a great job setting both the pace and the mood for the album. They focus into delivering nothing but exciting and uplifting glam and hard rock songs, with memorable melodic lines and engaging, vibrant choruses.

Inspirationally, the ‘80s have really left a mark in the sound of Crosson, with songs showing influences by the Journey or the Stryper in the song “Fallen From Grace”. Also, with the song “Ready Aim Rock”, the Crosson write one of their heaviest tracks with distinct heavy metal influences.

Honestly, the “Ready Aim…Rock” is just a delightful release and a great listening experience. Once more, Crosson deliver not only what was expected, but much more. They delivered an extremely fun album that you can’t but fall in love with it. I can’t but recommend this great work by Crosson.
