German/Australian rockers Sweet Electric have released their new single and video, 'Long Way Back', ahead of their second studio album, 'Something Something Disco'. The album is scheduled for release on September 10.
The new track looks back at the less glamorous side of the rock 'n' roll life: years of chasing music, sacrificing stability and continuing despite the fact that the dream rarely pays the bills.
Vocalist Brad Marr describes the song as a deeply personal reflection on his own journey, which began at Melbourne's Cherry Bar when he was 18. His path through the Australian and international rock scenes has included changing countries, starting over and continuing to pursue music even after realizing how much time had passed.
"'Long Way Back' is the blurb to my autobiography," Marr says, summing up the song's autobiographical character.
The single is the third track released ahead of Something Something Disco, Sweet Electric's second full-length album, due out September 10.
Formed in 2022, Sweet Electric have already taken their hard-rock sound on several international tours and appeared on the German television program Rockpalast. The band will continue touring in support of the new album, with upcoming dates alongside The Lazys and Hayseed Dixie.
The band's 2026 schedule includes shows across Germany, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, beginning with festival appearances in August and continuing through October.
