Legendary guitarist Tony Iommi has announced his brand-new solo album, From The Dark, set for release on October 23 via BMG.
To mark the announcement, Iommi has unveiled the album's first single, "World Alone," accompanied by an official music video. The powerful track features acclaimed Norwegian vocalist Jørn Lande, whose commanding performance is backed by Iommi's signature heavy riffs and soaring guitar solos.
The album was produced by Tony Iommi together with longtime collaborator Mike Exeter and features Jørn Lande on vocals throughout, alongside bassist Becky Baldwin and drummer Karl Brazil.
According to Iommi, From The Dark is an album created purely out of passion.
"We had an incredible time making this album. We didn't have to prove anything anymore—it's simply a great rock album, and it rocks!" says Iommi.
Described as a modern yet timeless heavy rock record, From The Dark explores themes of mortality, humanity, hope, and resilience across eight new tracks. The album opens with "Over The Violent Sun" and concludes with the epic closing track "Legacy."
Fans can also look forward to a limited 7-inch vinyl edition of "World Alone", arriving on September 4, featuring an exclusive instrumental version on the B-side.
Coming just one year after Black Sabbath's historic Back To The Beginning farewell concert, From The Dark marks another major chapter in Tony Iommi's legendary career and demonstrates that one of heavy metal's founding fathers remains as creative as ever.
