British progressive art-rock band The Pineapple Thief have announced their new studio album, Far And Wide, due out October 9, 2026 via InsideOut Music.
Alongside the album announcement, the band have released the new single "New World Order", accompanied by a video directed by longtime collaborator George Laycock of Black Tide Productions.
The upcoming record finds The Pineapple Thief leaning further into their identity as a live rock band. After years of touring and growing stages, the group wanted to bring that energy into the studio while keeping the atmospheric and progressive elements that have defined their music.
Frontman and founder Bruce Soord says the band deliberately imposed tighter musical restrictions during the writing process, including limiting the number of guitar parts and vocal layers. The goal was to create arrangements that would feel natural for a five-piece band on stage.
Drummer Gavin Harrison, who joined the band a decade ago, also played an important role in shaping the live-oriented approach to the new material.
Lyrically, Far And Wide explores a world dealing with social unrest, moral choices and personal loss, building on themes introduced on 2024's It Leads To This.
The album will be released in several formats, including a limited 2CD/Blu-ray edition featuring the bonus track "Daylight", instrumental versions and immersive audio formats.
