Soulline are proud to present their new album, Screaming Eyes, out
today, March 11th, 2022, via Massacre Records.
The new album, unlike its predecessor, is about hope and rebirth. In Screaming
Eyes the eyes are the soul’s mirror and, the metal soul of this record screams
strongly for a revenge from life. The life of an ordinary human being who had
a dark period, a veil of shadow on his existence that he has now accepted,
understood and against which he fights deciding to get up again.
In fact, the album begins with Your Death (Is My Life), in which the killing
of the voracious worm within oneself takes place in order to live again. It's
an opening song that kicks the past and shows the will to fight.
The previous two singles Dragonfly and Against Myself respectively illustrate
how the protagonist is driven to take all the strength he has to get back up
and take advantage of his new life, and how easy it is to fall back into the
abyss with a second that is enough to erase all efforts.
Lore, guitarist of the band, says: "At the beginning of 2020 I was
unmotivated, my fixed thought was to break up the band. To stop our story with
one last tour and write the word 'end' during the last concert that would
crown our 20th anniversary. During the first lockdown though, I started
writing new songs and when I played the demos to the guys, I saw a light in
their eyes that I hadn't seen in a long time. Our hearts went back to
screaming all at once! A year later we signed a contract with Massacre Records
and recorded a new album, Screaming Eyes, life never ceases to surprise you!"
Ghebro, vocalist, adds: "For the first time we let about thirty fans listen to
the entire album in preview and asked them to vote on what their three
favorite songs were. We didn't expect the results that came out but we decided
to trust them and turn the choices into the singles that anticipated the album
release. We are very happy with the response we are getting."
Screaming Eyes represents the journey of all the people who are tired of
suffering and being sick, who decide to fight back and start living again by
finding the right balance within themselves.
For the first time, each member of the band has laid bare thanks to the
art of metal by writing at least one song about a particularly difficult
moment of his life that needed to be faced, processed and overcome.
The band's drummer Matt states, "Screaming Eyes is a powerful record
that has given us a lot of energy over the past few months in the recording
process. We can't wait to be able to play it live!".
Miles, bassist, adds: "I'm really proud to be a part of this awesomeness!".
The cover of "Say Just Words" of Paradise Lost, 25 years after its
release, also fits perfectly in a speech about courage and the ability to
understand human being and bring him to the right path, even if sometimes the
efforts are in vain.
